Oleksandr Polivodskyy receives an award from V. Koretskyi Law and State Institute

Sofiya Law Firm Partner Oleksandr Polivodskyy receives an honorary award from V.M. Koretskyi Law and State Institute for his strong contribution to the development of legal science and the strengthening of relations between the lawmaking and state formation.

The ceremony of distribution of awards to academic and practicing lawyers took place in Kyiv recently on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Institute.

V.M. Koretskyi Law and State Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine conducts fundamental theoretical and methodological research into pressing issues of state legal construction in Ukraine; provides expert and scientific advice to the Ukrainian Parliament, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, judicial authorities, the Prosecutor’s General Office, and other government and local authorities; performs legal and scientific expert assessments as part of doctrinal interpretation of legal provisions in complicated and controversial cases of law enforcement.

‘I am very pleased to receive this award from a leading Ukrainian research institution, which is recognised by the entire legal community,’ Mr Polivodskyy has commented on the award. ‘I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the National Academy of Sciences member Yurii Shumchenko for an opportunity to be involved in the development of the Ukrainian legal science and to apply its achievements in practice.’

As a scientific expert of the Legal and Scientific Expert Assessment Board of the Institute, Mr Polivodskyy has conducted about fifty scientific and legal expert assessments and provided the resulting conclusions to individuals and legal entities at their request.

As a practicing lawyer and a manager of Sofiya Law Firm, Mr Polivodskyy provides legal advice on business activities and professional consultations regarding the matters of agrarian and land law, real estate law, and legal proceedings. His expertise is science-based. In 1999, Mr Polivodskyy defended a Ph.D. thesis in law before the Law and State Institute, majoring in 12.00.06 (land law; agrarian law; environmental law; natural resources law). His thesis subject was: Legal Regulation of Sales of Agricultural Products.
