Sofiya Law Firm has partnered with Legal Agri Forum in 2020


The state is ready to open the agricultural land market this year. The prospect of market opening was discussed by the participants of the II Legal Agri Forum, which was organized by the publisher "Yuridicheskaya Practika".

The partner of Sofiya Law Firm Mr Oleksandr Polivodskyy, moderated the first session of the event, which took place in a discussion format.

Among the issues that were brought to the experts' focus were the advantages and disadvantages of the Ukrainian land market model; who, when and under what conditions will be able to buy agricultural land in Ukraine; what are the consequences, opportunities and risks associated with market opening and what will change in the patterns of agricultural production.

Roman Leshchenko, Presidential Commissioner for Land Affairs, Oleksandr Kachura, Member of Parliament, Oleksii Mushak, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine for Economic Affairs, Mykola Horbachov, the President of the Ukrainian Grain Association, Vitalii Zhadobin, Deputy Chairman of the UNBA Committee on Agrarian and Land Law, Mykhailo Rizak, Deputy Director General for Interaction with Authorities of NIBULON, Liliia Timakina, Director of Legal Affairs of Astarta-Kyiv Agroindustrial Holding participated in the discussion.

"In spite of the fact that the draft law is being processed, the assurances of the power holders that the land market in Ukraine will be opened are the important results of discussion to us," O.Polivodskyy noted in the " Yuridicheskaya Practika" commentary. "Market implementation will be fraught with legal risks that lawyers need to be carefully prepared for."
